Checking Recording

Follow the steps below to determine if your microphone is working properly:

 

  1. Click on the Start icon, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to Entertainment, and then click on Sound Recorder.

  2. Put your headphones and adjust your microphone.

  3. Click on the  Record button, and speak loudly and clearly. You should see a wave while you are speaking.

  4. Click on the  Stop button.

  5. Click on the Play button. You should hear your voice.

 

Follow the steps below if you do not see the wave while speaking:

 

  1. Check if your microphone is properly connected properly to the computer.

  2. Adjust the microphone volume in the Volume Control (Start >> Accessories >> Entertainment >> Volume Control).

  3. Confirm that the Mute check box for the microphone is not selected.

  4. Test again

 

If you still do not hear any sound, contact the Help Desk.
